DOB and FDNY Share Fire Alarm Application Withdrawals

By Mario Aurioso

Until recently, the only agency that could withdraw a Fire Alarm application that required an inspection was the FDNY. With a new procedure the DOB now also has this authority.

Withdrawal of Fire Alarm applications usually points to two scenarios. First,  the  application may have been superseded by another application covering the same work. Second, the work that was approved was never performed. In either case, the application in the system no longer applies. With the change, the DOB can now inspect and confirm if the  application can be withdrawn from the DOB system.
