Operations Manager

Operations Manager Robert Proffitt, R.A., has more than 25 years of design and construction experience. A New York State licensed architect who joined Metropolis in 2015, Robert has been involved with the development of several iconic buildings in New York City, including the World Financial Center, Museum of Art and Design, Georgetown Hotel, The James Hotel, and the New York Yacht Club. He manages several of the firm’s most complex projects, providing code and zoning guidance and shepherding the projects through the municipal filing process. Robert also mentors younger members of the Metropolis team; he teaches them how to meet client requirements both effectively and efficiently. A member of The American Institute of Architects and The New York Academy of Sciences, he holds a master’s degree from the Tulane University School of Architecture and studied under Dr. Hatice Cullingford at NASA’s Johnson Space Center.
