Effective July 12, 2019, the Department of Buildings (DOB) will no longer allow self-certifications for Gas Test and Gas Finish work completed in the Bronx and Queens. Instead, such work will require a physical inspection, scheduled online and witnessed by a DOB representative.
When requesting an inspection through DOB NOW: Inspections, choose one of the following inspection types, based on the total number of floors that require inspection:
- PL – Up to 3 requested floors
- PL – Up to 9 requested floors
- PL – More than 10 requested floors
In addition, requests must identify the type of inspection: Gas – Test or Gas – Finish.
For Advance Notices for Gas Test and Gas Finish inspections in the Bronx and Queens submitted before July 12, certifiable results may still be submitted in DOB NOW: Inspections 24 hours from the time indicated on the Advance Notice.
