Proposed DOB Rule – Facade Site Safety Requirements

Section 3310-01 of the DOB’s Rules regarding site safety requirements for major buildings were drafted with construction and demolition sites in mind. They do not specifically address façade projects.

Façade projects possess their own unique safety challenges, and a new proposed amendment to DOB Rule section 3310-01 would establish separate site safety requirements for major building façade projects.

The next step in the process is a public hearing, which is scheduled for January 12, 2015 at 10am. The location is 280 Broadway, in the 3rd floor conference room.
