SIA Responsibilities

Special Inspection Agencies have well documented responsibilities on job sites. In addition, they are obligated to report inspection discrepancies as well as any hazardous conditions found on job sites.

SIAs must report discrepancies to the contractor, site safety coordinator and manager. If uncorrected, the SIA must report the discrepancies to the owner or registered design professional.

SIAs must report hazardous conditions immediately to the contractor or senior personnel on site. If left uncorrected, the SIA must escalate by contacting the Emergency Operations Center at (212)393-2127.
