2014 NYC Energy Conservation Code Now in Effect

By Penny Laughlin

Now that we’re into 2015, all projects must comply with the 2014 NYCECC. In conjunction with this, the DOB has created new forms for submissions.

The TR8 has a new commissioning report requirement, and has renamed and removed selected Energy Code Progress Inspections.

The EN 1 is restructured to capture energy modeling information according to ASHRAE 90.1. This form must be included on the construction documents in the drawing set.

The LAA1 and PW1C have updated Code references in the statements and signatures sections.

All new filings must utilize the 2014 form versions.

As always, it’s a good move to review the new forms and understand the changes.
