New Notification Requirements for Sidewalk Shed Removal

The 2014 Code has introduced new notification requirements for sidewalk shed removals. The notifications apply to those sidewalk sheds which were permitted after 12/31/14.
The permit holder must notify the DOB within 48 hours of removing a sidewalk shed from a jobsite. To notify the DOB, the permit holder must call (212) 383-2550, and provide the sidewalk shed permit number, the date of removal, whether the project was designated a site safety job and whether the completed work was façade-related.
On completion, the DOB will provide a confirmation number. There are no fees associated with the process.
