DOB Extends Façade Amnesty Program to October 31

By Tynesha Goode

The Department of Buildings (DOB) has extended the amnesty period for the Façade Inspection and Safety Program (FISP) to October 31, 2020. The amnesty program applies only to non-compliant Cycle 8 owners. No further extensions will be granted.

The FISP Cycle 8 reporting period ended February 20, 2020. Owners who did not file a Façade Report (No Report Filed, or NRF) can administratively close Cycle 8 with the Cycle 9 report, avoiding further violations and fines.

NOTE: Non-compliant Cycle 8 owners are still responsible for paying late fees, civil penalties or ECB fines accrued for failure to file a report. All penalties and fees for failure to file during any previous cycle must be paid by the time of filing.

FISP Amnesty Program Rules

  • Cycle 8 owners will be allowed to file within the Cycle 9 reporting period, regardless of their assigned Cycle 9 sub-cycle filing period.
  • Owners must pay the standard filing fee when submitting the Cycle 9 Façade Report. (No filing fee will be required for administrative closure of Cycle 8.)
