Construction Sign-Offs Must Be Submitted Online

As of Monday, May 13, 2024, all construction sign-off requests must be submitted online. The Department of Buildings (DOB) will no longer process emailed requests.

DOB NOW: Construction Sign-Offs

To request construction inspection sign-offs before occupancy in DOB NOW, complete the following steps:

• Log into DOB NOW: Build
• Select “Construction Sign Off Prior to Occupancy” on the Actions tab
• Type “Office Review” at the start of the Request Comments section
• Complete comments section as usual

Building Information System: Construction Sign-Offs

To request construction inspection sign-offs before occupancy in the Building Information System (BIS), complete the following steps:

• Log into BIS
• Select “Request Inspection” option
• Type “Office Review” at the start of the Additional Information section
• Provide any additional information as usual

DOB Review of Sign-Off Requests

The DOB Quality Assurance Team will review all submitted requests marked for “Office Review.” The existing process for requesting physical construction inspections will not change.
