LL26 Deadline Less Than Five Years Away

Time flies. In 2004, LL26 gave building owners 15 years to comply to the local law requiring buildings over 100 feet in height to be protected by sprinkler systems. Now, we’re down to five years.

LL26 applies to all office buildings – new or existing to provide adequate sprinkler coverage. The challenge is immense – designing, installing and signing off on a new sprinkler system is a complicated process with many moving parts.

It’s safe to say that time is running short for any buildings that have pushed off the planning process. Let’s make a resolution to get this started in 2015.
